cards I’ve made for friends and family |
|
I have always enjoyed photography, but once I started working with a digital camera, I knew I’d never go back to using film! I’ve since combined photography with using Photoshop on the computer to really take advantage of the flexibility that computer editing can give.
After I moved to Arizona I began experimenting more and more with Photoshop using the digital photos I’d taken. I eventually expanded my activities and starting making birthday cards after I stumbled on digital scrap-booking. I wasn’t interesting in scrap-booking, but it occurred to me that making my own cards (birthday, anniversary, Christmas) would be fun.
Now I’ve become a busy card-maker. Whenever possible I incorporate photos of the recipients in the card, which makes the card even more special. Upon receiving one of my cards as part of a graduation present, the graduate said she liked the card more than any of her other gifts! What a compliment!
I’ve expanded to making Christmas cards, invitations, thank you cards. I have even converted some snapshots to portraits. I’ll use any excuse to make a card for anyone any time. And I “play” on the computer learning new Photoshop techniques to incorporate in my cards or as a gift to family and friends.
Does Parkinson’s intrude on my activities? Sure, sometimes my tremor is so bad I can’t type with my left hand. But as long as I can use my right hand, I’ll be ok. And my husband bought me a new digital camera with an “anti-shake” feature built into it. It’s for people taking photos from cars & trains, but it works great for a person with pd! |
