We live in exciting times when the word "Father" to me is being truly defined,
sculpted and lived as it should be, so Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out
there.
My opening comments reflect my viewpoint that today's Dads are really involved
in their children's lives. From prenatal times, listening to the baby's
heartbeat; being there with Mom at the birth and cutting the cord; to being the
parent that picks the kids up from the day care center or setting up the
babysitter; a new age in fatherhood has definitely arrived.
But the fathers with PD are challenged with the obstacles of this disease and
deserve special recognition for all they accomplish in the name of "Fatherhood".
No one but another parky can know the demands parenthood places on your energy,
your strength, your hopes for the future.
And best wishes go out to all our PD mothers who have taken on the dual role of
parenthood and have mothered as well as fathered their children and nurtured
them with enough care and tenderness for two people.
Happy Fathers Day to all the dads whose children fail to return the love that
you have given them. Know in your heart you did the best job possible and
sometimes though you have tried your hardest the cookies still break and we are
left with the crumbs. And if you are the child in estrangement, today would be a
great time to seek amends and peace.
Let there always be Joy in your Heart for the title of "Father" deserves
respect and once bestowed is one that you will never lose through down sizing,
company consolidation or Chapter 12.

Joy be in your heart and a smile on your face,
