From Nan And Brenda
We have just said goodbye to 2001.
It was a year of triumphs and tragedies but unfortunately such is the cycle of
life. At PLWP, we are so grateful for the accomplishments of this past year and
send our thanks to one and all. We are also thoughtful of our fellow PLWP’s who
have had to struggle but continue to be strong and continue to be filled with
hope.
As we reflect on 2002, it brings
to mind what is ahead of us. It is the year for finding new strengths and new
beginnings. Soon, the 2002 Olympics games of Salt Lake City will be upon us. The
Olympics is an event that happens every two years. It is a time when the world
comes together and more than 200 countries honor and learn from one another. It
is a time when we can all be proud and witness special moments of greatness and
determination. People from different, backgrounds, cultures and experiences are
brought together to show all of us the best qualities of humanity, endurance and
the celebration of the human spirit. They inspire all of us while bringing the
world together in its ultimate desire for lasting peace.
Think about how many “Olympians”
we have here at PLWP within our midst and think about how of them have inspired
so many of us. They relentlessly continue on in their determination and
perseverance. They are the ones carrying our torch to victory. So please join
with us to thank and encourage our “Olympians who continue to walk the "Gold
Medal Mile”. These individuals are courageous because they show us that shaping
destiny is made up of efforts and is a matter of choice more than chance.
Being a member of PLWP does not
require work, does not require contributions of any kind. The requirement to be
a PLWP is very simple…care about those or be one of those people living with
Parkinson’s. What you do from that point is totally up to you. All we want is
for you find a home with us.
Much Love,
Nan & Bren
