November 2001 has been designated as National Family Caregivers Month. National Family Caregivers Week was initiated in 1986 to promote public recognition of the importance of family caregivers, and the week has since turned into the designated month of November. We would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to our partners who share a common bond with us of having to deal Parkinson’s disease on a daily basis. We know that care giving is not an easy role and you can feel its impact emotionally, physically and financially. Many of
you give of yourselves to the point of exhaustion and struggle to meet the demands at home and at work. You are there for us sharing the sadness of this disease due to your dedicated commitment and love. We would like to join with others in the Nation to thank, honor and celebrate the importance of the roles you play in our lives.
